The impressive new building has a high sustainability wood-hybrid structure. This is highlighted via the design of the facade.
The air conditioning concept further supports sustainability with natural ventilation for all office areas, the laboratory areas are provided with additional mechanical ventilation.
The energy supply of all the buildings on the entire FUBIC project site is exclusively electrical and is supplemented by photovoltaic systems on the roofs.

FIT-OUT
With a strong focus on sustainability and ESG aspects during its development, FUHUB presented the ideal opportunity to build the first wood-hybrid construction laboratory in Germany. Chemically, biologically, and physically secure laboratories conforming to safety levels S1 and S2 were already integrated in the planning process. The laboratory areas will have a multi-sector ventilation systems and cooling, while the office areas will be naturally ventilated.
The planted roofs provide evaporative cooling and also complement the biodiversity of the building. The façade concept includes external, electrically-operated sun protection blinds and night ventilation openings. The building has two lifts whose dimensions are large enough to accommodate laboratory equipment. The basement of the building will provide storage rooms, bicycle parking spaces, showers and changing rooms. The building benefits from shared landscaped external areas and a courtyard, which are intended to create a pleasant environment for the entire user community to relax and to exchange ideas, as well as providing infrastructure and opportunities for events and meetings, promoting further collaboration. In addition, the co-working spaces on the ground floor offer flexible expansion options for users. With all of these unique features in addition to its high ESG standards and amenities FUHUB will be awarded a DGNB Platinum Certification.
